My time here...

Hi, my name is Keshia, I have been doing my placement at The RWF for just over 3 months and I love it here. Why do I love it? Let me tell you.

I am yet to experience a charity or non-profit organisation that works with people who have been through the criminal justice system in such a positive light as The RWF. We are constantly working on the positives of a person's characteristics to help them build a stronger future and to forget the anxieties of their past.

This is a people focussed organisation; opposed to limiting services due to funding. This highlights the importance of the good will of our volunteer mentors as they are a key factor in the success of our services.

Mentoring has been proven to have a powerful, positive effect on a variety of life aspects. The clients that request a mentor have all benefited greatly from this experience, realizing that someone cares about them and they are not alone, which is something that has caused them difficulty previously.

Clients appreciate being able to come in and see us even after they have finished the programme! Some have even provided gifts in the form of poetry.

I have built an amazing rapport with the clients and I look forward to contacting them to see how they are getting on.

I have learnt a lot about the CJS (Criminal Justice System) and how the CRC (Community Rehabilitation Companies) and JCP (Job Centre Plus) work

I have a new family here at The RWF that I feel care about me and show the same enthusiasm in each other as their work.
