'Grow your tenner' returns on Tuesday 18th October

Each October, LocalGiving, which is the fundraising platform that we use for one off and monthly donations, runs their 'Grow you tenner' campaign.

GYT - the facts:

• The campaign kicks off at 10am on Tuesday 18th October 2016 and closes when the match fund runs out or at 5pm on Thursday the 17th November 2016 (whichever comes first).

• During the campaign, one off donations made to The RWF via Localgiving will be matched by up to £10; as will Direct Debits by up to £10 a month for the first 3 months.

Attitude...

Attitude is such an important thing to get right in any and every situation that we are in and yet, it's the exact area that so many people fail to do their best in. You could say that some people appear to go out of their way to make things worse for themselves by having a negative, bad or destrcutive attitude.

We aren't taught about how to develop a positive, helpful or appropriate attitude in school and the courses provided on the subject in adult life are generally attached to a business vein of personal or professional development. So a lot...

Our 2016 Life-Changer Appeal

As of 9am Friday 30th September we have raised a total of £4,067.50 of our £35,000 target. This has enabled us to enrol the first 2 of the 22 young adults we are aiming to enrol onto our 18 month 'Life Changer Mentoring Programme'.

Here they will receive the support they need to help them to create new lives, free from the anxieties of their past and with a clear plan for their future.

With sufficient 1-2-1 and group support in specialist areas, such as behavioural change, training and mentoring, they will make significant progress.

If only 10 of those 22 people...

Employing ex-offenders

We just read this article in the Personnel Today 'about a young entrepreneur Jacob Hill who has just launched Offploy, which guides businesses through the HR, legal and ethical minefield associated with ex-offender employment. He considers the role that employers can play in rehabilitation and the challenges that need to be overcome to give ex-offenders a second chance.'
